Sampling (air, bulk, dust)

Plaster SampleMZA has been engaged in many situations that have required sampling to be performed to determine the nature and extent of asbestos contamination in a building. Simply collecting air samples, however, does not identify the cause of air quality problems. With its expertise in IAQ and industrial hygiene, MZA capabilities far exceed those of typical air monitoring firms.

MZA is extremely knowledgeable in ASTM dust sampling methods. As a member of ASTM International's D22.07 Committee on Sampling and Analysis of Atmospheres, MZA was instrumental in developing the recently published ASTM D7390-07 Standard Guide for Evaluating Asbestos in Dust on Surfaces by Comparison between Two Environments, which provides the statistical procedures to analyze contaminated environments. MZA is unique in having applied this important new guideline in the field, in response to a state regulatory agency's demand for a scientific method of evaluating the extent of a contamination event.

Floor sampleOSHA monitoring for various airborne contaminants often involves sampling. MZA performs air sampling for many gases, vapors, and particulate in the industrial and service sectors. MZA has used OSHA sampling and analytical methods for testing during numerous construction, demolition, environmental and renovation projects.
